Fun little trick I learned in therapy: validation. When someone is upset, don’t try to fix the problem, point out the cause, or tell them it could be worse. Just validate their emotions. Be like, ‘yeah man, that sucks. I’m sorry you’re going through that. I’m here for you.’ That’s literally all you have to do to make them feel better. Thank you and goodnight.

fake!married is the best trope and i never tire of it no matter how many are written and how badly they end up being. undercover!married is even better. “we have to lull our adversary into complacency by being as MARRIED AS POSSIBLE.”

#we must be SO VERY MARRIED #EXTREMELY DATING #FULL-ON LAP-SITTING IN LOVE #for crime fighting purposes

Anonymous → I'm in ministry and have felt far from God lately. I feel like a hypocrite.

Gee whiz, don’t you know that God only uses perfect people?

Except that murderous David…
Or that rebellious Jonah…
Or that stuttering Moses…
Or that prostitute Rehab…
Or that doubting Thomas…
Or that thief Jacob…
Or that disobedient Abraham…
Or that compromised Samson…
Or that intimidated Elijah…
Or that drunk Noah…
Or that deceived Eve…
Or that promiscuous Solomon…
Or that unfaithful Peter…
Or that boastful Joseph…

If you’ve ever stumbled in your walk with God, you’re in good company.

one time my sister was working at home depot and got called down to help handle an outrageously angry man returning a lawnmower and it was our dad

Stills from Marnie final trailer.
I like the way it seems a bit different from the usual Miyazaki graphic style.
Future of Studio Ghibli is determined by the success of this movie, which opens this saturday in Japan.

"My love for you is not poetry, it is late nights of agonizing thoughts; and long days of selfless actions. It weighs upon my mind like a mad riddle, as I grow older, it becomes more obvious how hard it is to love selflessly; how much responsibility it holds.

If I am to love you at all, it is only through the grace of Christ. For I am not enough, but I know He is."
