literature meme: [6/7] characters Robin Hood
First appearing in Robin Hood and the Monk, a ballad from about 1450 AD, Robin Hood has become an iconic figure of folklore and literature. Robbing the rich to give the poor and creating mayhem for the Sheriff of Nottingham and Guy of Gisbourne, Robin Hood and his “merry men” are forever helping the people of Nottingham.

She came to a stop, for there before her, as still and silent as a sentinel, stood a strange knight. The whole of him, his hair, his face, his armor, seemed carved all from ivory, pale as old light in the marble hall, but for his lips and cheeks, which were as rosy as a painted doll’s. He, with his soft face and round eyes, cut an odd figure as a knight, both bulky and trim, the plates of his armor rising and falling in dramatic swells at the shoulder and chest. The armor, too, seemed pieced over each other in wide ridges as smooth and polished as the crescent moon. He made no movement to look at her, would not displace his pellucid eyes from the door on the far side of the hall. She began to wonder if he was really alive at all.
afghjgukh the hair and the armor and the 3/4 view and the shading this is so beautiful
westerners are obsessed with the idea of happiness as if it’s a constant state of being. happiness comes in moments. you dont “achieve” happiness. you experience it along with every other emotion on the spectrum. if you spend your life chasing this constructed idea of happiness you will never even be remotely content. work on being whole and feeling everything while increasing the happy moments. stop trying to be a “happy person.” just be a person.
